CLIENT: Oregon Humane Society

CLIENT GOAL: Update the image of the Humane Society as well as the conditions of the facility to support the mission of getting animals adopted into new homes.

DESIGN RESPONSE: Building upon the Oregon Humane Society’s 127 year history, the project provides a state-of-the-art facility to support animal care, education, and protection programs. Sophisticated mechanical and plumbing systems provide hygiene conditions similar to a hospital. Attention to interior design involves both durable finishes and creating a public-friendly environment. The building architecture reflects imagery of the original buildings and also promotes a professional image for the Humane Society. The facility includes: Dog kennels, Cattery, Administrative offices, Animal treatment rooms and Auditorium. The design includes plans for future expansion in phases, to accommodate predicted growth.
