CLIENT GOAL: Design a complete Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in a single, urban high rise building.
DESIGN RESPONSE: Located in Seattle’s South Lake Union area, Mirabella will provide all levels of senior care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living and Health Care Services. The U-shaped building, which surrounds a secure courtyard on the west side, is 12 stories tall and has 400 living units. In addition to the residences, the project contains common area facilities such as a dining room, bar lounge, auditorium, wine tasting room, library, and an exercise facility with a pool. Support services for the building include main reception lobby, marketing offices, a commercial kitchen, commercial laundry, administrative offices, and maintenance facilities. The dining room is located on the 10th floor with unobstructed views to Lake Union.
