Walnut Village – Anaheim, California

CLIENT: Front Porch

CLIENT GOAL: Develop a new approach to retirement living using a “village” concept.

DESIGN RESPONSE: Walnut Village Continuing Care Retirement Community, on just over 7.7 acres, is designed around three separate and distinct village centers. The main Village Center is the community central plaza around which most of the common amenities are accessed. These include the main dining room, club lounge, shops, deli/coffee shop, business center, mail center, library, welcome center and the performing arts center. The second, The Village Gardens, is the north court; meant to serve as a quiet, sensory garden with a koi pond and gazebo for quiet meditation. The third, The Village Park, is designed to be the most natural outdoor space with lawn and large shade trees.
