CLIENT GOAL: Create a road map for future development of this historic district.
DESIGN RESPONSE: Beam Development and the Bill Naito Company have joined together in a joint venture to redevelop several parcels located within the Skidmore Fountain/Old Town Historic District of Portland’s Central City. In response to this venture, Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects (AMAA) has prepared this Development Plan which will function as a road map for the design and programming of the area. As the Development Plan incorporates a number of underutilized blocks, it enables a rare opportunity to view the area holistically, as an integrated unit to program housing, office and retail locations, circulation and parking that works with surrounding uses to create a complete neighborhood.
