CLIENT: NW Housing Alternatives
CLIENT GOAL: Provide affordable housing community specifically designed to meet the needs of large, lower income families.
DESIGN RESPONSE: Springwater Commons offers comfortable three, four and five bedroom units. Each unit provides a large light filled great room, free high speed internet, energy efficient appliances, full size washers and dryers and private backyard with patio. Site amenities include community room, outdoor play area, easy access to public transportation, and nearby walking trails.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN: Located within a well established suburban area, the community blends with the surrounding housing and density. Readily available public transportation is located adjacent to the site. Additional loads due to surface run off are treated on site via bio-swale which also enhances site landscape, providing local wildlife with refuge. Energy star appliances used throughout as well energy efficient windows. Centralized trash collection area also has recycling area provided.
